608 pub and nightclub goers arrested for violating SOP
PETALING JAYA: A total of 608 bar and nightclub goers were penalized for violating standard operating procedure (SOP) under the Recovery Motion Control Order (RMCO).
Another 27 were also held, attending a private party, Chief Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Yaakob said today.
They were among 763 people arrested for violating standard operating procedures. Of this number, 17 were submitted while 746 were issued compounds.
Others were found not to wear face masks, to operate businesses beyond normal hours, or to be involved in activities that make social distancing difficult.
A total of 2,699 workforce teams were deployed across the country, involving 11,862 people who had conducted checks in 3,868 supermarkets, 4,939 restaurants, 1,462 street vendors, 1,158 factories, 3,500 banks, and 657 government agencies.
“They also monitored 1,094 land transport terminals, 203 maritime or water transport terminals and 135 air terminals,” he said.
