502 arrested for disobeying standard operating procedures

PETALING JAYAPolice arrested a total of 502 criminals for disobeying standard operating procedures (SOPs) with 40 people still trying to cross borders (districts and states) yesterday.

Of the 502, a total of 470 compounds were released while the rest were retained.

“Of these, 204 people did not adhere to social distancing, 99 did not wear face masks, 63 premises operated beyond the allowed hours, 55 premises / individuals did not provide customers with log books or QR code to register entry, 40 they traveled to other districts or states and the rest had violated other SOPs, ”said Chief Minister (Defense) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pix) said today in a statement.

Apart from that, a total of 38 illegal immigrants and two suspected smugglers were arrested, as well as eight ground vehicles were seized yesterday during Ops Benteng’s operations against illegal immigration.

Regarding the returnees, he said that a total of 66,823 people had returned to the country between July 24 and November 13 and to date 388 people have been sent to hospitals for treatment, while 9,569 are going through the period. Mandatory 14-day quarantine at designated centers.

To date, a total of 56,866 people have been allowed to return home after undergoing the mandatory 14-day quarantine.
