KUALA LUMPUR: The Employee Provident Fund (EPF) will resume 50/55/60 year retirements and i-Akaun mobile activation services beginning Wednesday, May 6 at approved branches across the country.

The retirement fund said services can be done at branches located within states that are implementing the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) guidelines, as well as Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

Branches in Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak will remain closed until further notice, it said in a statement here.

“The EPF knows that the imposition of the MCO since March 18, 2020 was a necessary measure, but we were very concerned as other extensions of the MCO meant that services requiring face-to-face transactions, such as withdrawals and mobile activation of i-Akaun, they broke off.

“With the CMCO recently announced, we are excited to announce the resumption of some of these services at approved branches across the country,” said CEO Tunku Alizakri Alias.

As the EPF places the health of members and staff as its top priority, it would impose strict conditions for identified branches that include, but are not limited to, limiting exposure of members and staff at all times, just simple and quick transactions non-physical contact i.e. 50/55/60 year withdrawals and iAkaun mobile activation services will be available at branches.

Employers cannot visit branches, as all services can be carried out by contacting their Employer Advisory Services officers and all members must follow EPF’s social distancing measures throughout their visit.

The EPF also said that member visits can only be made by appointment through Janji Temu’s online facilities on the EPF website www.kwsp.gov.my starting tomorrow, May 5, 2020.

“I appeal to the generosity and patience of our members to allow EPF to evolve to this new standard as quickly as possible. InshaAllah, in the very near future, we will be able to deliver to all members 100 percent of our products with the highest quality of service through all our physical devices (branches, extension and kiosks) and electronic (call center, site web and mobile devices) channels, “said Tunku Alizakri. –Bernama
