467 arrested for violating SOP

PETALING JAYA: Police arrested a total of 467 offenders yesterday for disobeying standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The Chief Minister (Defense), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said today that 460 compounds were issued, six were placed in pretrial detention and one received police bail.

“Of the 467, a total of 182 people did not wear face masks, 110 facilities / people did not provide customers with the log books or QR code to check in, 106 people did not adhere to social distancing, and the remainder had violated other SOPs, “he said.

In addition to that, a total of 58 undocumented immigrants were arrested, and yesterday two boats and two land vehicles were seized during Ops Benteng’s operations against illegals.

As for the returnees, he said that a total of 49,923 people had returned to the country between July 24 and October 16.

To date, 381 people have been sent to hospitals for treatment, while 9,291 are going through the mandatory 14-day quarantine period at designated centers.

A total of 40,281 people were allowed to go home after undergoing the mandatory 14-day quarantine.
