40 new cases, 1 death

CORONAVIRUS The | 40 new cases of Covid-19 were reported today, bringing the total number of cases to 6,819.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, none of the new cases was imported.

The Ministry of Health revealed that 31 foreigners were among the new cases.

Eighteen of the new cases in the Federal Territory were all from a single source: the vicinity of the Pudu market.

This group currently has 30 cases, all related to foreigners.

Pedas’ group, Negeri Sembilan saw an increase of 10 cases. This group involved a large chicken slaughterhouse and most cases involved foreigners.

Pahang recorded eight new cases, while Selangor, Johor, and Malacca each saw one new case.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry said the 24-hour period ending today at noon saw 70 Covid-19 patients discharged.

There are currently 1,356 active cases. Only 16 patients require intensive care. Of this number, only four require fans.

There was one death attributed to Covid-19 during the same period.

The 39-year-old Malaysian man (identified as patient 6,780) with previous illnesses died on May 12 at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Pahang.
