4 records set by Liverpool in historic 7-0 win over Crystal Palace

Liverpool broke four records in their historic win over Crystal Palace on Saturday. The Reds went to Selhurst Park and won 7-0.

What a Liverpool performance. The Reds were as clinical as possible, scoring practically every time they advanced against Crystal Palace.

Unsurprisingly, for a 7-0 away win, Liverpool broke some records in the demolition of the Palace. Here are four from a memorable Premier League victory.

His biggest win in the top flight

This was Liverpool’s biggest away win since 1896, but their biggest win in the top flight.

We write about it in more depth here, but it’s worth mentioning again. What’s truly amazing is that Liverpool haven’t even played well away from home this season.

They had only won once before visiting the Palace and that was a 2-0 win against ten-man Chelsea. Other results included draws with Brighton and Fulham, with a 7-2 loss to Aston Villa being the worst part.

New Lower Palace

This was the first time in its history that Palace conceded seven at home. Now that’s not a surprise, of course, how often does someone accomplish that?

But Liverpool have made their mark on the Eagles in a way that surely no one is going to match in a terrifyingly long time.

Palace isn’t even a bad side, after all. This was truly an amazing result.

King Klopp

This was Jurgen Klopp’s 127th Premier League victory with Liverpool. That is now the most of any Reds boss, beating Rafa Benítez.

It was inevitable that he would get there, of course, unless the Reds suffered the biggest collapse in history.

However, the speed with which he has done it is incredible. Benítez’s record reached more than six years between 2004 and 2010. However, Klopp achieves it in five, as he joined in late 2015.

Dream team

Our favorite is that Liverpool had seven players who assisted goals in the victory. That’s a new Premier League record, according to the BBC.

Doing that in seven goals is pretty amazing too. There were no individual goals or defensive errors that led to goals. Neither player did the damage with a superb creative display.

Instead, this was a good example of team performance. Wonderful things about Liverpool.
