4 new Covid-19 clusters | Malaysia free today

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Health today reported four new clusters affecting Selangor, Penang, Sabah and Kuala Lumpur.

They are the Cassia Diamond cluster that involves Selangor and Penang; the Pompod group involving Sabah; and the Kiara and Perkasa construction groups, both in Kuala Lumpur.

The Cassia Diamond group involving Klang, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor and Gombak in Selangor, and also Barat Daya in Penang, was detected yesterday when an individual was examined after showing symptoms.

So far, a total of 76 people with 25 positive cases have been examined.

Meanwhile, the index case for the Pompod group involving Kota Belud and Kudat in Sabah tested positive on December 13 after the detection of symptomatic individuals. A total of 216 people were examined, of whom 19 tested positive.

At Kiara’s construction sites group, Noor Hisham said positive cases had been detected since Dec. 21 after specific examinations at construction sites.

The working group involving Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, has 13 positive cases out of 372 people tested.

At the Perkasa de Cheras construction site group, Kuala Lumpur, he said that cases were first detected as of December 22 after specific examinations.

A total of 451 people with 11 positive cases have been examined.

Noor Hisham also announced that six pools officially ended today, bringing the total number of active pools to 204.

The six groups were the Tanamera, Jalan Kalabakan, Seri Terapi, Seri Pasir, Astaka and Tembaga groups.
