PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Health has detected four new Covid-19 clusters in the country during the last 24 hours.
Chief Health Officer Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said they are the Softwood group in Sabah, the Teratai group in Selangor, the Damanlela construction works group in Kuala Lumpur and the Mahkota group involving Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Sarawak.
The Softwood group dates back to Lahad Datu in Sabah. The first case tested positive for Covid-19 on October 30, and close contact screening tests identified another 13 cases.
At noon, 109 people were tested, 14 tested positive, and 95 were still waiting for the results.
The Teratai group includes the Klang, Kuala Selangor, Petaling and Hulu Langat districts in Selangor. The first case tested positive on November 2, and close-contact tests identified another 73 cases.
At noon, 101 people were tested, 74 tested positive, 17 negative, and 10 still awaiting the results.
Damanlela’s group of construction sites in Kuala Lumpur comprises the Lembah Pantai, Kepong and Titiwangsa districts. The first case tested positive yesterday and close contact tests identified another 14 cases.
At noon, 292 people were tested, 15 of whom tested positive, 269 negative, and eight were still awaiting the results.
Mahkota’s group includes cases at Hulu Langat, Selangor; Kepong and Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur; Sibu, Sarawak; and Putrajaya. The first case tested positive on October 30, and close contact tests identified eight other cases.
At noon, 56 people were tested, nine of whom tested positive, 28 negative, and 19 were still awaiting the results.
The Tawau Group of Temporary Detention Centers, also known as the PTS Tawau Group, recorded the majority of cases with 121 Covid-19 infections today.
It was followed by the Sandakan prison group with 91 infections, the Rengas group with 35 infections and the Tenaga group with 32 infections. All the other active groups registered less than 30 cases each.
