PETALING JAYA: Police arrested 390 people yesterday for disobeying the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
Chief Minister (Defense) Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 386 people were aggravated, while four others were arrested.
He said 23 illegals and three smugglers were detained under Ops Benteng.
“The task force also seized five boats and five vehicles during operations to prevent illegal entry into the country,” Ismail Sabri said during his daily briefing today.
He added that 20 sanitation operations were carried out in eight states and Putrajaya to prevent the spread of the virus.
“Those who want to travel within Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya must obtain a permit.”
“The permission form can be downloaded through the PDRM Facebook and must be scorched by the police officer in charge of the nearest police station,” he said.
He clarified that Kuala Lumpur residents are free to travel within the capital city, as it is considered a single district.
Ismail said there were many inquiries about the limits under the CMCO implementation in the Klang Valley.
He said that it is based on an administrative district (borders) and that all of Kuala Lumpur is considered one and Putrajaya is another district.
Ismail Sabri said that to prevent the spread of the virus in red zones, employers should allow their workers to work from home.
He said Labuan will be placed under a conditional movement control order (CMCO) from October 17-30 in an effort to curb the spread of Covid-19 infections.
He said it was necessary to impose CMCO on Labuan in view of the increase in Covid-19 cases recently.
He said that the SOPs corresponding to the previous motion control order (MCO) will be maintained.
“The public living in the CMCO areas don’t have to worry about buying goods, don’t resort to panic buying,” he said.
Ismail said business facilities are operating normally.
He said that supermarkets and wet markets are still open every day, vegetables and other raw materials are still sold.
