3,731 Covid-19 cases, 15 deaths

PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health has reported 3,731 cases of Covid-19 and 15 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 3,369 recoveries, bringing the total number of discharged to 190,339.

In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 242,452.

There are 51,421 active cases with 292 patients being treated in intensive care and 140 requiring respiratory assistance.

Meanwhile, the 15 deaths bring the death toll to 872.

Today’s new cases involved 3,723 local infections and eight imported cases. The local cases comprised 1,946 Malaysians and 1,777 foreigners.

Selangor again detected the highest number of cases with 1,606. Other states and the federal territory that registered triple-digit infections were Johor (499), Kuala Lumpur (372), Melaka (313), Penang (250), Sarawak (219) and Sabah (160).

They were followed by Negeri Sembilan (92), Perak (71), Kedah (43), Pahang (34), Kelantan (32), Terengganu (29), Putrajaya (9) and Perlis (2). Labuan did not record any cases today.
