3 New Covid-19 Clusters Detected in Sabah, Johor

PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health detected three new Covid-19 clusters in the country during the last 24 hours.

Director General of Health Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said it is the Plaza and Jalan Kalabakan groups in Sabah and the Jeri group in Johor.

In a statement, he said that the Plaza cluster was detected in Kota Kinabalu, and that the index case tested positive for Covid-19 on a November 11 screening test after showing symptoms.

Close contact examinations found another 11 positive cases, with seven negative results.

Jalan Kalabakan’s group was detected in Tawau, first involving an individual who tested positive on October 31 after showing symptoms.

All 21 close contacts tested so far have tested positive.

Meanwhile, Jeri’s group includes Kota Tinggi, Mersing and Muar districts in Johor, and the index case tested positive on November 6 after entering Singapore.

A total of 1,170 people have been tested, 26 of whom tested positive and another 609 are still awaiting test results.

Noor Hisham also announced that the Bah Arnab cluster in Kuching, Sarawak, was officially terminated after no new cases were reported in the past 28 days. No deaths were linked to the group.
