Three Malaysian bars have been named to Asia’s Top 50 Bars for 2020 list: Bar Trigona, JungleBird and Coley Cocktail Bar.
The Trigona Bar at the Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur is the highest-ranking Malaysian bar at number 14.
The bar, which is also known for its sustainable practices and its emphasis on local products and ingredients, also won the Sustainable Bar Award for the second consecutive year.
The other two bars on the list were JungleBird rum specialists at n. 37 and Bangley Coley Cocktail Bar at n. 48. Malaysia’s three bars also appeared on last year’s list.
Due to the Covid-19 global pandemic, this year’s awards were announced through a live online ceremony on Thursday (May 14).
Jigger & Pony from Singapore was named the best bar in Asia, and 12 other bars in the country made the list.
The top three spots were rounded off by Hong Kong bars: The Old Man at n. # 2 and COA, whose bartender Jay Khan was named Bartender’s Bartender for 2020.
