27 residents of Medan 88 surrender for Covid-19 screening

SEPANG: A total of 27 residents of Medan 88, Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, who did not return home when the area was placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) last Wednesday, have surrendered to the police.

Sepang District Police Chief ACP Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said 13 of them surrendered last Thursday and another 11 the following day.

They include 12 foreigners, six from Indonesia, three from Thailand and one from Myanmar, India and Nepal.

“Yesterday, another three, all from Sabah, returned home to screen Covid-19,” he said in a statement.

He said that since Medan 88 was placed under EMCO, 324 residents had undergone the swab test and four of them tested positive.

It was previously reported that around 400 residents of Medan 88 did not return to their homes or left the area after receiving information that the area would be placed under EMCO.
