PETALING JAYA: The evaluation of Covid-19 at all facilities in the three zones under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at PJ Old Town was completed today. A total of 2,150 individuals were examined.
Petaling Jaya Police Chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the last 46 facilities in Zone B were reviewed today, ending the house-to-house search. Two locals and two foreigners were the last to be examined.
Nik Ezanee said that under the “search and detection” operation carried out by the Ministry of Health, the 540 samples obtained, including from a foreigner who tried to escape from an EMCO zone, were negative for Covid-19.
The “screen and search” operation targeted occupants of the facility who had not responded to calls to be examined when Health Ministry officials visit them.
Nik Ezanee said a survey showed that residents in the area were calm and supported the EMCO.
He said that the EMCO trading room in the PJ Old Town market can be contacted at 012-2666165.
A two-week EMCO was declared Sunday for the PJ Old Town area after 26 positive Covid-19 cases were reported.
