PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health has reported 2,062 cases of Covid-19 and one death in the last 24 hours.
Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 911 recoveries, bringing the total number of discharged to 79,304.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the 2,062 cases bring the total number of infections in the country to 97,389.
Meanwhile, the only death of the day brings the balance to 439.
A total of 17,646 people remain in treatment, 111 of them in intensive care and 51 require respiratory assistance.
The death involved a 69-year-old foreigner with pre-existing medical conditions who died in Labuan.
Selangor continued to record the highest number of cases today, with 1,014 infections, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 504, Sabah with 252 and Johor with 167.
Negeri Sembilan reported 57 new cases, while Penang had 23 new infections.
Perak had 17 cases, followed by Melaka (nine), Pahang (six), Kedah (five), Kelantan (four), and Labuan and Putrajaya, each with two.
A total of 120 cases currently were related to prison groups and immigration depots, namely the Tembok Gajah and Jalan Harapan prison groups. Currently, there were only four imported cases.
