The order books for the Toyota Vios facelift have been open since November 16, although we were only provided the estimated price at that time. That changes today as the B-segment sedan sibling of the Yaris hatchback was officially launched in Malaysia.

Under the hood, the Vios range continues with a Dual VVT-i 1.5-liter 2NR-FE four-cylinder engine delivering 107 hp and 140 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT with a seven-speed Shiftmatic mode that drives the front wheels.
The styling changes that come with the facelift include a revised front end, where the main grille and lower inlet merge to form a large mouth, finished in black. LED headlights are standard across the Vios range and represent an improvement over previously used halogen headlamps. As for the rear bumper and taillights, they remain unchanged from before, the latter being bulb-like for the J and LED-like for the rest.
Standard wheels for the J are 15-inch alloy wheels (with 185/60 tires), while the E and G are 16-inches (with 195/50 tires). Other exterior details include side mirror gauges and acoustic glass for the E and G, along with chrome door handles for the G (body color for the J and E). For an additional RM 2,500, customers can specify an optional aerokit, which adds the front and rear bumper lips, side skirts and a spoiler on the boot lid.
If the aerokit isn’t enough for you, consider opting for the GR-S package, which comes with a GR Sport grill, sport suspension, a GR-S-specific aerodynamic kit, suede and leather-wrapped sports seats, plus 17 Alloys. inches.
Moving inward, the Vios’ cabin is no different than before, with an unchanged dash layout that sees the center taken over by a main unit positioned above a pair of air vents and controls for the automatic air conditioning system. The side air vents and the center console are also the same as before.
Gear-wise, the J comes with keyless entry and engine start, cloth upholstery, fixed rear seats, analog gauges, urethane steering wheel and gear stick, Eco and Sport drive modes, normal head, four horns, two USB charging ports and blue footwell lighting. The E adds 60:40 split folding rear seats, an Optitron instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch multi-information display, steering wheel controls, and a seven-inch screen audio system (with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay). . At the top, the J builds on the E with elements like leather upholstery, a leather steering wheel and gear stick, paddle shifters, six horns, and an electrochromic rearview mirror.
For safety, all variants come standard with seven airbags (front, side, curtain and driver’s knee), vehicle stability control, traction control, ABS, EBD, brake assist, emergency stop signal, Variable speed automatic door lock, Isofix child seat anchors and a seat belt warning system for all seats. The rear parking sensors are also present, but the G also wins them at the front.
The biggest addition to the Vios kit list is the Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver assistance and safety systems, which is exclusive to the E and G models. On the mention of options, UMWT offers a series of elements according to the chosen variant.
