SHAH ALAM: The Court of Sessions today filed additional charges against two senior army officers accused of soliciting and accepting bribes in connection with the award of Ministry of Defense projects to a company.

Brigadier General Mohammed Feizol Anuar Ayob, 50, and Lieutenant Colonel Che Ahmad Idris, 54, were charged yesterday with five counts of bribery.

Today, Feizol was charged with two additional charges and Che Ahmad Idris with an additional charge of bribery.

Feizol was said to have requested a bribe of RM 150,000 from the CEO of FEHM Entity Sdn Bhd, Elias Jemadi Tajudin, as an incentive to help him submit a letter of intent from the company to become a strategic partner and maintenance contractor. of intelligence teams in the Defense Intelligence Division.

He was also accused of taking the bribe.

Both crimes were allegedly committed in September 2019 in a cafe in Setia Alam, Shah Alam, in his capacity as then military adviser to the Minister of Defense.

Feizol had been charged with five counts of accepting a total of RM128,000 from Elias yesterday.

Che Ahmad was accused of accepting £ 4,500 (RM25,000) from Elias as a bonus for him to propose the appointment of the FEHM entity Sdn Bhd through direct negotiation to carry out maintenance services in the Defense Intelligence Division and provide services of support for the electronic warfare system strategy (Prism).

He was said to have committed the crime at Kompleks Induk Stride, Taman Bukit Mewah Fasa 9, Kajang, Selangor, on November 22, 2019 in his capacity as then head of the Strategic Cyber ​​Warfare Branch.

Yesterday, Che Ahmad was slapped with five counts of soliciting and accepting more than RM600,000 in bribes.

They both pleaded not guilty. Session Court Judge Yang Zaimey Ghazali posted bail of RM 10,000 for Feizol and RM 15,000 for Che Ahmad.

All charges were framed under Section 16 (a) (B) of the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009, and are punishable under Section 24 (1) of the same Act .

If convicted, they face a prison term of up to 20 years and a fine of not less than five times the amount of bonus requested, or RM10,000, whichever is greater.

Yesterday, along with Feizol and Che Ahmad, the former director general of the Defense Intelligence Division, Lieutenant General (Rtd) Sheikh Moksin Hassan, 59, was charged with requesting and accepting bonuses in connection with the award of projects from the Ministry of Defense to a company. . He faces seven charges in total.
