2 new Covid-19 clusters in Sabah

The Teratai group recorded 778 new cases, the highest number among the groups today.

PETALING JAYA: Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah announced today that two new clusters have been detected in the last 24 hours, both in Sabah.

They are the View Kolombong group that involves Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran and the Talang-Talang group that involves Kota Kinabalu.

He also stated that three groups had finished today, namely the Highway group, the Inai group and the Jalan Meru group.

The View Kolombong group’s index case involved a person who was examined after presenting symptoms on December 1.

There were a total of 76 individuals tested, of which 40 tested positive.

Meanwhile, the Talang-Talang group involving Kota Kinabalu was first detected after a person underwent tests for symptoms on November 23.

So far, 67 close contacts have been identified. Of that number, 18 people have tested positive so far.

Speaking about the groups with the highest number of new cases, he said that the Teratai group reported 778 new cases, the Hentian group reported 118, and the Batu Tujuh group 37.
