PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health has identified two new Covid-19 clusters, in Perak and Sabah.
Combined, the two groups represent 27 of the 691 new cases reported nationwide.
The new group in Perak, the Batu group, was detected in Taiping during an inspection of the staff of a detention camp and their families.
A total of seven people have tested positive and are being treated at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Perak.
To date, a total of 860 people had been tested, including the seven who tested positive.
A total of 182 tested negative while another 671 await their results. The source of the infection is still being investigated.
The new group in Sabah is known as the Ramai-Ramai Cluster and was detected in Sandakan.
The index case is a bus driver who experienced symptoms on September 27 and tested positive on October 3. The patient is being treated at Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sandakan.
To date, a total of 166 people had been tested, including 20 who tested positive.
A total of 146 people await your results. The source of the infection is still being investigated.
Meanwhile, Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah also provided an update on seven active groups that had new cases today.
This included 394 cases in Tembok Cluster, Bangau-Bangau Cluster (30 cases), Jalan Meru Cluster (15 cases), Bah Sintok Cluster (3 cases), Benteng PK Cluster (2 cases), Selasih Cluster (1 case) and Embun Cluster (1 case).
