When the Pocophone F1 was introduced in 2018, it was an impressive phone offering a flagship-class processor for less than RM1,500. Now it seems that Poco continues that tradition with its new Poco F3 5G. You get a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip and it even supports 5G.

Hardware specs
Essentially, the Poco F3 5G is a new version of the Redmi K40 that is sold in China. Up front, you get a 6.67 ″ Full HD + AMOLED display that drives a 120Hz refresh rate and a high 360Hz touch sample rate. The display is HDR10 + certified with a nominal maximum brightness of 1,300 nits and has a 5,000,000: 1 contrast ratio.
Under the hood, it runs on a 7nm Snapdragon 870 5G SoC that comes with LiquidCool Technology 1.0 Plus. The device is configured with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage that cannot be expanded.
In the photography department, the device has a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 5MP telemacro lens. The device also has a 20MP selfie camera that fits into a small hole punched in the screen.
Like most newer smartphones, it also has two speakers for stereo playback, but it lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. Also included is support for Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi 6, and an infrared blaster. For 5G connectivity, the device also has a Snapdragon X55 5G modem.
The F3 has a 4520 mAh battery that supports 33 W fast charging via USB-C. A 33W boxed charger is also included and Xiaomi claims you can get a full charge in just 52 minutes. The device runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12 for Poco skin on top.
