KUCHING (September 2): A 12-year-old boy was charged in Magistrates Court here today with sexually assaulting three girls, who are all cousins of the accused.
The defendant, who was indicted in three separate magistrate courts, pleaded not guilty when the three charges were read against him under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act of 2017.
According to all charges, he was charged with committing sexual assault against the three victims, two of whom were nine years old and another was 11 years old, at his home in Kenyalang Park, here last year, on March 22, 2019..
In the incident that occurred around 11 a.m., he allegedly touched the bodies of all the victims with sexual intentions.
Judge Mohd Syukri Mokhtar, Judge Zubaidah Sharkawi and Judge Zaiton Anuar scheduled October 8 to hear the defendant’s moral report.
Meanwhile, the court allowed the defendant to be released on bail with his grandmother as guarantor while the defendant was not represented by a lawyer.
The prosecution was carried out separately by Inspector Prosecutor Mohd Adzmei Ahmad, Inspector Nur Syafiqa Nyaie Ilin and Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang.
