PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health has reported 1,196 cases of Covid-19 and one death in the last 24 hours.
Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 997 recoveries, bringing the total number of discharged to 84,411.
In a statement, it said that the 1,196 new cases bring the total number of cases in the country to 105,096. Only five of the new cases are imported.
The single death brings the number of victims to 452. It is a 71-year-old man from Sabah.
There are 20,233 active cases, 111 patients in intensive care and 50 require respiratory assistance.
Selangor reported the highest number of cases with 392 infections, followed by Kuala Lumpur (202) and Johor (194).
Sabah reported 186 new cases, while Negeri Sembilan reported 39 and Penang 37.
Meanwhile, Kelantan reported 31 cases followed by Perak (30), Kedah (27), Melaka (23), Labuan (12), Pahang (9) Putrajaya (6), Terengganu (5) and Sarawak (3).
