COVID-19 | The Ministry of Health reported 1,141 new Covid-19 cases during the 24-hour period that ended at noon today.

No new deaths were reported during the period, the first time in more than a month.

However, the number of patients requiring intensive care and those requiring mechanical ventilation has increased.

Main indicators:

  • Active cases: 10,802 ↓ (3 less than the previous day)
  • ICU patients: 129 ↑ (13 more than the previous day, new record)
  • Intubated patients: 7 ↑ (7 more than the previous day)
  • Deaths: 0 (zero for the first time since November 1)

The highest number of new cases was reported in the Klang Valley region with 578 cases (50.7 percent).

Sabah and Selangor each recorded 28 percent of the total number of cases in the country, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 22.4 percent of cases.

About 87.15 percent of new cases in the Klang Valley can be traced to new or existing groups, or close contacts, while 12.5 percent were detected through “other screening tests”, which They include screening after symptoms develop, preoperative screening, and workplace screening. , among others.
