COVID-19 | The Ministry of Health reported 1,096 new cases of Covid-19 today and Selangor represents more than half of them.
It also reported 1,104 recoveries, the second consecutive day in which it has overcome the new infections.
The director general of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Noor Hisham, in a statement, said that the increase in Selangor was due to the Teratai group.
The Teratai group, which involves workers from Top Glove’s Meru factory, was made up of 502 of the 603 new Covid-19 boxes in Selangor.
The latest figures put the accumulated cases of Covid-19 at 54,775 compared to 41,597 recoveries.
Main indicators:
Active cases – 12,843 ↓ (11 less than the previous day)
Patients in intensive care – 106 ↓ (Two less than the previous day)
Intubated patients – 46 ↑ (one more than the previous day)
Deaths – 3 (unchanged)
Today’s three new deaths put the death toll at 335. Details of the latest deaths are as follows:
Patient 34,953 (Death 333) – 68-year-old Malaysian male. He died at Tawau Hospital, Sabah. He had a history of high blood pressure and stroke.
Patient 41,489 (Death 334) – 90-year-old Malaysian male. He died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Sabah. He had a history of stroke, dyslipidemia, and cardiac arrhythmia.
Patient 52,981 (Death 335) – 80-year-old woman who is not a citizen. He died at Duchess of Kent Hospital, Sabah. He had a history of stroke.
