Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams is back in the NBA bubble at Walt Disney World and is quarantined for 10 days after he stopped at a strip club in Atlanta, a visit he said was just to get your chicken wings.
However, Williams’ additional stop on what was supposed to be an approved trip out of Florida in order to attend a family funeral, is still receiving harsh criticism from the NBA world.
Kendrick Perkins to Lou Williams: “You have to do better”
Kendrick Perkins, an NBA veteran and current ESPN analyst, targeted Williams on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Monday.
A guy like Williams who has been in the league for more than a decade, Perkins said, should know better than to stop at a strip club amid the global COVID-19 pandemic, which is still raging across the United States. and it’s what forced the league into a bubble in the first place.
“I’m a big guy. I love eat. I’ve been to Magic City, wings are fire, “Perkins said on ESPN.” But in this case, seriously, come on Lou Will, you have to do better man. During this pandemic, you have to do better … Lou Will He’s a 16-year-old vet. He knows better. He should know how to be more mature. “
He was also surprised that New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson was able to leave the bubble due to a family emergency and return without causing any problems, however Williams was unable to accomplish the same feat.
“You have a rookie boy in Zion Williamson who left because of a family issue and handled it much better than Lou,” Perkins said on ESPN. “We don’t hear a word. He fell, took care of his business with his family, and is now back in the bubble. ”
Williams naturally didn’t appreciate that.
Williams to Perkins: ‘Perk. Shut up.’
Williams quoted Perkins on Twitter a few hours later, telling him to “shut up” and “stop laughing.”
15 years in this business and the most dirt I have on my behalf is stopping to get hot wings during a pandemic. Perk. Shut up. And stop laughing and saying it’s only television when you meet me too. https://t.co/2xnCpG9I1J

But I digress. I went home to see a man at his final resting place who was a giant in my life. I don’t want that to be lost in all this attention. So again, LONG LIVE GREAT PAUL WILLIAMS SR. go back to my quarantine so I can join the guys soon. Peace

Clippers forward Montrezl Harrell was also alongside Williams.
Perkins held his opinion on Monday afternoon.
In any case, the damage has already been done.
Williams will have to be quarantined in the bubble before he can join the Clippers, and he will miss at least his first game due to his diversion from the strip club.
Nothing he or Perkins says at the moment can change that.
