The court will announce the decision in the Kelmė district mayor Andrulis bribery case.

In the case, V. Andrulis is accused of demanding 10 thousand. bribery for favoritism in the project to organize public spaces in the town.

The court representative, Nijol Court Damulė, informed BNS that the prosecutor is offering V. Andrulis 75 thousand. Five-year fine and deprivation of the right to work in public service for five years.

The mayor of the Special Investigations Service was arrested on May 19 last year, when he received from the director of the company executing the project a part of a bribe that could be demanded: 5,000. euros.

In May, V. Andrulis was removed from office for six months and, in early November, the court extended this term for another three months.

Earlier in court, V. Andrulis admitted that he had taken 5,000. but he said he thought they were lending him.

“I made a huge mistake. I took that money for nothing. The person who gave the money did not say why or how. Filed, I just took it. I thought we were talking about buying a car and he lent it to me because he didn’t have enough money. Such conversation was in the car. I thought that the money would have to be returned, “he said during a judicial questioning in November.

When asked why the money was transferred, Mr. Andrulis said there was no reason and called the whole event a provocation and stated that all meetings were held at the initiative of the person who gave the money.
