SBGS officials report that on Sunday, the Varėna border team, Druskininkai border guard officers reviewed the documents of the Mercedes-Benz 316 D minibus departing for Belarus and the attached Pragmatek trailer at the Raigard checkpoint. Both vehicles were marked with Ukrainian numbers.
The minibus was driven by a 51-year-old Ukrainian citizen. Two used cars were transported on the trailer. Among other documents, the foreigner presented the border guards at the complex with a Ukrainian driver’s license issued in his name. Border guards found it to be a total fake.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched at the Varėna border team of the SBGS due to the falsification of a document or the removal of a falsified document. For this, the Ukrainian faces arrest or imprisonment for up to 4 years. He was locked up in custody.
In addition, the Druskininkai border guards imposed an administrative fine of 300 euros on a Ukrainian for not having the right to drive a vehicle.
The minibus, the trailer and the two cars it transports are stored at Raigard’s point.
The case of forged documents was also detected late Saturday night at the Lavoriškės point by border guards inspecting a “DAF” tractor driven by a Russian citizen with a “Lamberet” semi-trailer.
According to the Vilnius Border Team of the SBGS, the 2005 Lithuanian-Belarusian tug of the show was conducted by a 43-year-old Russian national. Both the tractor and the 1998 show semi-trailer registered in Russia.
Lavoriškės border guard officers were suspected of having the registration certificates for a heavy vehicle and a semi-trailer presented by Russia. According to preliminary data, both documents are falsified.
Border guards also launched a pre-trial investigation for forgery or possession of a forged document. The driver faces a fine or arrest, or imprisonment for up to 3 years. The alien was released after questioning.
The tractor with semitrailer is stored at the Lavoriškės border checkpoint.
