Although Lithuanians like to condemn travel during the pandemic, public relations specialist Tomas says that when he leaves, he feels like he’s been back to himself after a long time. Having rented a house with a terrace and a swimming pool, the interlocutor says that he does not think how much the entire stay will cost and has not decided when to return. Although the trip to Tenerife itself took time, it was worth it for many reasons. He spoke of changes in emotional state, travel characteristics at this time and prices in Tenerife.
– Have you thought for a long time about leaving or staying in Lithuania?
– The decision was made quite quickly, in January, when the quarantine was extended, the exit of the municipality was prohibited, I did not think much. I worked from home a long time ago, routine, the same house, everything became unbearable, so we quickly thought about leaving. It is true that we delayed the search for cheaper options, but we could not find them.
– Not worried about a global pandemic?
– It doesn’t scare me anymore, because I went several times this year: to Greece in October, then to Spain. You could say that I went beyond that universal fear syndrome. Living in Lithuania and constantly following information creates exaggerated fear. Abroad, the situation is radically opposite. In Greece, for example, I felt absolutely no fear, people behave completely differently from us, they live differently. Everyone knows that the coronavirus exists, but life does not revolve around it.
