It turns out that the band The Roop, who want to enter the big Eurovision this year with the song “Discoteque”, continues to receive a wide range of suggestions from fans and comments on how they could further improve their performance in the selection final.

“Oh, people are very resourceful. They have so many suggestions. What I’ve come to realize since last year is that you still need to listen to yourself, what to change and what not. There are so many proposals and so opposed to each other, it is impossible to implement them all. I don’t even know if those suggestions are worth making. Well, for example, it was said that I should bring mirrors on stage, after everyone danced, then it was the other way around, that maybe I would be better off being alone or that I would take off my jacket and just keep my shirt. It’s fun to have people involved, they are watching, they want to help you, they sign up, they take the time. It’s fun, ”the group leader smiled.

Vaidotas Valiukevičius did not hide in the air that the title of favorites or even potential winners “The Roop” makes him not only stretch, but also feel the pressure.

“It just came to our knowledge then. We have the most pressure on ourselves because we want to finish the trip that was interrupted. We don’t hide it. We really want that and we feel like we can carry the Lithuanian flag very far,” he smiled.

It’s no secret that the national team can still cause surprises. Some fans of the project fear that the preconceived idea that The Roop are already winners could get in the way, as people may just forget to vote for them in the final, supposedly “they will win anyway.”

“We have seen in the history of Lithuania, for example, in politics, there have already been such or similar cases. I think we still have to talk via social media that if the national team likes something, whether it’s us or others, don’t just slap them on the screen, but send a message of support. I realized that not everyone knows that the money raised will not go to LRT. All money collected from calls and messages, after deducting state taxes, will go to the winner, who can use that money for preparation. And the preparation really costs a lot. So if you see that you like something, please cast your vote. This is very important ”, emphasized Vaidotas.

In just a few days, the song “Discoteque” improved the country’s records and became the most listened to song in various categories in Lithuania. Did the group leader expect such popularity? V. Valiukevičius recounted in more detail on air how long the group had to go and spoke about what is often left behind.

“I wanted to do it, but I think this will definitely happen 100%. – It wasn’t possible, so you’re not sure. We work on it every day. People think, what does an artist do all day? It seems like he just goes up to the stage, sing, take the money and go to bed. No, it is not. I, for example, travel every day at 7 pm in the morning, at 8 pm I am already starting to work. A lot of work is just thinking, I spend my hours generating ideas, answering letters, strategizing. We think a few months in advance, we think about what will happen in three months. I live with that all the time. And this song was worked on for months before its release. We worked every day. You get up, work and think. The creative and artistic field: It is often seen strangely, especially in Lithuania, it is often incomprehensible that it is also a huge work, most of which is invisible and finally manifests itself in just a few minutes. After so much work col Aborative, I am very satisfied with these results.

I can not believe it. Of course, now we have become a regular at The Roop, we are visible, we write about ourselves often, etc. But that was not the case before. We met ten years ago and we worked every week all that time to make this happen. Me dear ones, I was unemployed a year and a half ago. Before launching On Fire, I had $ 300 in my account. I had no concert plans, I didn’t know what would happen. All. We had nothing. We went to people and told them that we had no money, but we had ideas, can you help us? So we started. Then the quarantine began on our wave. By having concerts in the summer we dedicate money. We don’t just waste them, some for a living, some for other activities. We put it all this way and then we create something out of it. I mean, I don’t think things are that easy. It is not easy, but there is desire and actions. And finally we come to the moment when not only Lithuania but also foreign countries write about us. It is a big, tortuous and sometimes even demotivating job, but now we are satisfied with everything ”, the singer opened.

And what do you support in this year’s national teams?
