A new surname has appeared in the list of team members of Česlav Olševskis, a member of the mixed group Seimas, on the Seimas website. He works as Ch. Olševskis’ adviser will be inaugurated by Jaroslav Narkevičius, former Minister of Transport and Communications, representative of the Union of Christian Families of the Lithuanian Polish Election Campaign (LLRA-KŠS).
C. Olševskis’ team also includes Romualda Poševeckaja, Valdemar Urban and Zbignev Jedinskij, who led the LLRA-KŠS to the Seimas elections last year. The portal tv3.lt recalls that LLRA-KŠS did not enter the second round of the Seimas elections, since it did not reach the required 5 percent. vote limits.
In 2020, two representatives of LLRA-KŠS entered the Seimas – Č. Olševskis and Beata Petkevič. These two politicians secured their positions in the Seimas during the first round of elections, in single-member electoral districts.
I was involved in scandals
J. Narkevičius has been a member of the Seimas from 2008 to 2020. Since 2019 he served as Minister of Transport.
The portal tv3.lt recalls that J. Narkevičius was involved in several scandals during his work at the Ministry of Transport and Communications: due to the asphalting of the then Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelio Street, the Hotel Seimas and others.
One of the scandals that received the most public attention, in which the name of J. Narkevičius was widely heard, was the money destined for the roads of the Trakai district and the paving of S. Skvernelio Street.
In 2019, it became clear that the Government, at the proposal of J. Narkevičius, had allocated more than 300 thousand. euros for the roads of the Trakai district municipality. We remind you that the politician was elected a member of the Seimas constituency in Trakai.
It soon became clear that the Government would allocate an additional 300 thousand LTL from the Vilnius district roads. almost everyone went to S. Skvernelio Street, and J. Narkevičius himself offered the money to redistribute the roads.
Another scandal that was widespread was the dismissal of the Lithuanian Postal Board. In 2019, just before the highway financing scandals, the then Minister of Transport and Communications J. Narkevičius removed the entire board of directors of the Ministry-managed Lietuvos Paštas company and formed a new one.
The Ministry announced that this was aimed at closer cooperation and greater listening of the Lithuanian Post to the needs of society and the interests of the state.
The Attorney General’s Office later found out that the Lithuanian Postal Board had been illegally appointed and could not make decisions.
J. Narkevičius was also suspected of hosting his daughter Karolina Narkevič in a hotel in Seimas. Shortly after the scandal, the Seimas Chancellery received a request from the Minister, rejecting a place in a Seimas hotel.
The place in the Seimas hotel should not have belonged to J. Narkevičius, because the politician had declared his place of residence less than 25 km from Vilnius. It turned out that J. Narkevičius, who lived in Trakai, had not only a place in a hotel in Seimas, but also an apartment in Vilnius, which was rented by the minister’s wife.
Due to the scandals in which J. Narkevičius was involved, President Gitanas Nausėda repeatedly offered the then minister to resign.
We have written about these and other scandals that shook the LLRA-KŠS before.
Connect with Č. On Friday morning, tv3.lt failed Olševskis and J. Narkevičius.
