The Lithuanian women’s team (0/3) in the selection for the European Championship destroyed all their theoretical possibilities and 55:67 (9:19, 20:14, 7:21, 19:13) did not resist against Turkey (2/2).
Although the Lithuanians will continue to side with the leaders of Group E, the Serbs, even their victory there will not change anything.
The Turkish team took the lead from the start of the match and gained a double-digit lead (19: 7), but the Lithuanians began to reduce it. The Lithuanians managed to get closer (22:24), and the second quarter was more positive, when Laura Miškinienė compared the result – 24:24.

However, the Turks went back to work: they stopped the attacks from Lithuania and broke away (42:33), and the third quarter was the most ineffective for the Lithuanians. They scored just 7 points and were already 36:54 behind.
Ceyhun Yildizoglu had a good chance to attack on the wing, but remembered his instructions to attack down the middle. The Lithuanians managed to get closer, but that did not change the situation: the hosts achieved the victory firmly.
Not only that, Gintarė Petronytė was injured in the last minute of the match.
