Explaining the source of contamination in the Curonian lagoon, 8 samples have already been examined in AB Klaipėdos vanduo’s laboratory, which were taken from different locations in surface sewage networks. According to the company, no petroleum products were found in the pollutants that exceed the permitted limits specified in the Surface Wastewater Treatment Regulation. The results of the studies that are expected to answer whether heavy metals and organic contamination have been found in the contaminants are still awaited.
