The government discussed the only issue in an irregular meeting Monday: allowing outdoor ski resorts to resume operations from Tuesday.
On Monday night, on the bilietai.lt platform, Liepkalnis began selling tickets from Tuesday to Friday, but that same night there were no more tickets. There have also been fears on social media that resellers are taking advantage of this.
A. Bielskus, manager of the Liepkalnis Ski Center in Vilnius, says that only a small number of tickets were offered.
“We are not open yet, not all possible tickets have been issued, only part of the tickets have been issued. We want to see how the flows are managed. And then we will increase the number of tickets as agreed by the ministries, as much as we can” says A. Bielskus.
The government decree stipulates that no more than 30 skiers can be served by one lift. A maximum of one person can ski for a maximum of 2 hours.
Bielskus says more tickets may be offered in the near future.
“If we open today, we see how we are doing, how we manage the flows, then we will spend more. If everything goes well, we will execute a little more tickets. We do not want to invite a lot and lose control on the first day, because we work in strange conditions and that is also enough for us. Of course, we are preparing hard, but we want to open up and manage more calmly, without stress, “says the manager.
In the long term, you expect to fully load the mountain to the required standards and if the demand is higher, an extension of working hours can be considered.
“Everything is very dynamic, we will open, we will see a few days we will work, we will learn and then we will react, perhaps we will extend the time so that everyone is safe and satisfied”, says A. Bielskus.
Yesterday, Liepkalnis shared a message that many employees are being sought at the center. A. Bielskus claims some have already been found, but the search for employees continues.
Ski tickets are sold only online for 1 or 2 hours, for no more than 2 people, they are not exchanged or returned, so it is offered to responsibly choose the desired time, writes on the website bilietai.lt.
“Masks that cover the nose and mouth are always mandatory throughout the territory for all people from the age of 6,” buyers are told. Skiers are not only asked to have their own equipment, to share the no-assembly rules, to use the lifts only one at a time, etc.
