According to the BBC, Kasiliauskis was attacked on June 12 in Peterborough.

A man with a knife was reportedly fatally wounded on Tilton Court Street. It turned out that the victim was the Lithuanian D. Kasiliauskis, known as a kickboxer and coach of the sport.

Smith will have to spend at least 17 years behind bars and his friend Álvaro Vilhete, 30, has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

L. Smith explained in court that he “jumped to the aid” of drug trafficker A. Vilhete, who was allegedly attacked by D. Kasiliauskis. He also explained that the Lithuanian allegedly used drugs regularly and that his trafficker refused to give them to him.

It was also said in court that D. Kasiliauskis struck a drug dealer, who allegedly paid the Lithuanian with a hammer blow.

The woman who attended the party where the gruesome murder occurred is said to have brought a sword to quell the conflict.

L. Smith took a sword and mortally wounded a Lithuanian who had three sons.

A statement read by the victim’s mother, read in court, states that her only son “had the best heart and cared a lot for everyone around her.”

Smith’s defense explained that he had learning difficulties, suffered from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and that the crime was completely spontaneous.
