Vilnius is ranked 23rd on the list (600.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants). Since the start of the pandemic, 35,333 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the capital, 21,531 have recovered so far, and 13,168 Vilnius residents remain ill.
The situation in Kaunas is better, the 14-day relative morbidity rate is 501.1 cases, and the city is currently 35th on the list of municipalities. Of the 18,480 Kaunas residents diagnosed with coronavirus infection, 12,317 have already been recognized as recovered and 6,065 are currently ill.
The number of infections in the whole of Lithuania fell by 18.9%, comparing the number on Friday with the level established a week ago. On the last day, 9,220 samples were tested for COVID-19 infection. In total, as ELTA announced, 1.86 million.
The situation in the municipalities changes almost daily, usually for the better. According to this Saturday’s data, 492.6 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected for every 100,000 cases in Šiauliai, which was listed as a major morbidity in municipalities in December. population. Šiauliai is now ranked 37th among all municipalities in terms of relative morbidity.
The Kaunas District Municipality is approaching the lowest incidence of COVID-19 even faster (372.3 cases), already ranking 47th on the list. A total of 5,834 cases of infection have been confirmed in the district, 3,760 have recovered and 1,935 residents are still ill.
According to the data on Saturday, Neringa, who has long had the lowest morbidity in Lithuania and was last on the list, has risen to more sick municipalities, already 50 years old.
