On the plot in Naujininkai, Jotvingių street, it is planned to build about 9.5 thousand. kv. meters of total ice rink area with two courts, one of which will be dedicated to hockey and the other to figure skating.
At the entrances to the latter, it is planned to accommodate a spectator stand, and the arena will also provide space for a skating rink and warm-up rooms and figure skating choreography.
The building will have capacity for about 100 athletes at a time.
The city announced an international ice rink design competition in October 2020. The municipality informed the BNS that 6 proposals had been submitted, five of which had been rejected due to various deficiencies.
The project will be managed by the municipal company Vilnius Development Company.
