1920-1940 The number of members of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania was established by the Law on Elections to the Seimas. The number of members of the Seimas changed taking into account the size of the territory of the Republic of Lithuania at that time.

The exception is the Fourth Seimas, which was elected by indirect election and its membership was reduced to prevent representatives of opposition parties from entering parliament. This Seimas was given only a supporting role, and real power was concentrated in the hands of the President of the Republic of Lithuania.
112 – both members of the Seimas formed the Seimas Constituent (1920-1922).
78 – both members of the Seimas formed the First (1922-1923) and Second (1923-1926) Seimas.
85 – both members of the Seimas formed the Tercer Seimas (1926-1927).
