A police officer driving an off-duty BMW car was unable to prevent the accident Friday night. Her uncontrollable car collided with another car that was coming in front of her.
According to the Police Department, the traffic accident was registered around 7 pm 30 minutes. In the district of Varėna, village of Pirčiupiai, in the first kilometer of the Varėna – Eišiškės highway.
According to the police, the BMW 530D was driven by an officer from the Vilnius County Police Chief’s Station who did not train during service. The woman may not have been in control of the car, so she came across a VW Passat in the opposite lane, driven by a 28-year-old man.
Firefighters and police officers went to the scene of the accident.
A BMW driver injured in an accident is treated on an outpatient basis after a medical examination.
