Violation of the Regulation of Visits to the Forest, when motor vehicles illegally circulate on the forest floor, damaging or destroying it, the offender faces a fine of 140 to 300 euros.
In explaining the circumstances of the offense, both citizens regretted reckless actions, for which the damage to nature (50.22 euros) calculated by the officials at the scene of the offense was compensated in good faith. Therefore, they must pay half of the minimum penalty provided for in the sanction, 70 euros each.
Officials from the Utena County Sheriff’s Office were also summoned to the scene. They developed protocols for offenders for driving unregistered vehicles on the road (fine from 30 euros) and for driving without the right to drive this category of vehicles (fine from 300 euros).
Officials from Utena GGAI also informed Cultural Heritage specialists about this case, as there were reasonable suspicions that motorcycles were being circulated through the burial mounds.
