“Certainly not, because, first of all, all those projects or consultations are in writing, and if the meeting is alive, it should be a transcript,” the former head of the board told BNS on Wednesday.

According to V. Andrejev, “one or two” meetings were held with R. Tamšunienė, where other projects were discussed.

“If we look at the meetings with R.Tamašunienė, it is mainly about Riešė’s two projects. These are all these protocols,” Andreev said.

He also claimed that these projects were discussed before R.Tamašuniene became minister.

V. Andrejev was removed from the post of head of the Highways Directorate in July this year after he disagreed with the decision of the Minister of Transport and Communications, Jaroslav Narkevičius, to allocate funds for the paving of three roads in the Trakai and Šalčininkai districts.

J.Narkevičius has repeatedly criticized V. Andrejev for misused funds from the Road Program and the European Union, with the latter claiming that in 2017-2019 even more funds were used than planned.

On Wednesday, Interior Minister R.Tamašunienė stated that he had not contacted Prime Minister Saulium Skvernelis about the paving of Upės Street, nor his wife Silvija Skvernele, but said that he had contacted the district municipality of Vilnius and the highway administration.

The prime minister’s wife asked the Upės Street community in Vilnius district to vote for Interior Minister R.Tamašunienė in a closed Facebook group for his efforts to pave the road.

A copy of the record of the prime minister’s wife was released on social media on Wednesday.

S. Skvernelis was criticized by the opposition when the section of Upės Street leading to the Prime Minister’s House was paved with money allocated by the Government.

The Chief Ethics Commission announced in June this year that it had no data to suggest that the prime minister might have confused public and private interests because government documents did not mention a specific street.

S. Skvernelis always claimed that he did not influence the decision of the Vilnius District Municipality to allocate the funds to the paving of Upės Street.

R.Tamašunienė was elected in the single-member electoral district of Nemenčinė, she is still running there.
