Karbauskis: We are ready to continue working, but obstacles may arise

“The most important thing is that people go to the polls and choose the right government for themselves. Our desire is to be in the ruling majority, to continue the work we have done. The will of the people to decide, ”said Ramūnas Karbauskis, leader of the Peasants and Greens Union, who voted in advance at the Kaunas City Council.

He acknowledged that mistakes and good actions had been made that people must evaluate individually.

“I think the people will make that decision. It will be seen if there will be enough votes to form a ruling majority for the peasants and the Greens. We are ready to continue our work,” said R. Karbauskis.

When asked how many seats he hopes to hold in the new term in the Seimas, the politician refrained from specific comments.

“It just came to our knowledge then. The first round will not find the winners, the second will show who won the elections,” R. Karbauskis briefly commented, mentioning that perhaps it is a little easier for the peasants and the Greens, because the voters can judge them for their work.

R. Karbauskis revealed what he most feared. According to the leader of the peasants and the Greens, he would not want the aspiration of the Social Democrats to form a coalition with the right to come true.

“It just came to our attention then. Probably no one will suffer a disaster, so stand alone. There will be coalitions, we are going through because the work that we have done, the election of the electorate, would not be replaced by the decision of the Social Democrats to be in coalition. with the right. Let’s hope this doesn’t happen, “said R. Karbauskis about the threat to the plans to be in the ruling coalition.

When asked not to form a coalition with him, the leader of the outgoing rulers avoided a specific response.

“I think we would not like to have a coalition with those who care less about Lithuania than their personal interests,” said R. Karbauskis, mentioning the failed vote on the establishment of state pharmacies.

Finally, he clarified that there is no political force with which he cannot work.
