Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky removed Lithuanian Aivar Abromavii as CEO of the state defense industry company Ukroboronprom.
Tai nurodomapaskelbtame V. Zelenskio dekrete.
A. Abromaviius has managed the content of nearly 80,000 employees since August last year. During Ukraine’s presidential election campaign, Ukroboronprom received attention for a journalistic investigation into corruption in the defense sector.
A. Abromaviius worked as Minister of Economy of Ukraine in 2014-2016. In the summer of 2016, he resigned to say that interest groups are blocking his reforms.
In an interview published on Wednesday15min.lt, A. Abromaviius stated that he had decided to support private companies as well as his Lithuanian colleagues at the Academy of Corporate Governance.
He said he had agreed with Zelensky that he would resign when the coronavirus situation stabilized.
According to A. Abromaviius, during his leadership, 70 new companies came to the management of the company and the owners of the existing factories changed.
The greatest merit, I think, has never been a single corruption scandal involving a new team, the portal said.
