Data from the Registry Center shows that the volume of real estate transactions (RE) in September was the highest monthly result in recent years. And general activity was driven by the sale of land and houses.

In terms of apartments, 3,176 of them were sold nationwide in September, 7.9% more than in the same period last year and 11.5% more than in August this year.

Statistics from the Registry Center cover both new and old dwellings when transmitted in a notarial operation. Therefore, this also reflects newly built homes, for which preliminary purchase agreements could have been concluded 6-18 months ago.

In January-September, almost 23,100 apartment sales were registered throughout the country, 12.5% less than in January-September of last year.

“September in terms of apartment sales was already close to the figures seen before the quarantine, when more than 3,000 apartment transactions were recorded in a month across the country. In addition, it was the busiest month for apartment transactions this year. , both in Lithuania and in many cities in the country. The apartment market in the capital, although it is gradually increasing, does not reach the record registered at the beginning of the year “, Paulius Rudzkis, acting head of the Department of Solutions and Analysis, quotes in the report. Data Center of Records.

Regarding metropolitan areas, the annual growth in the number of transactions was recorded in September in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and Šiauliai. The number of transactions on Panevėžys was slightly less than a year ago.

In total, the number of real estate sales transactions registered in Lithuania during the nine months of this year amounted to 90,400 and was 4% lower than in January-September last year (94,600). In September alone, 12,700 real estate transactions were registered, up 19% more than in the first autumn of 2019 and 7% more than in August of this year.

Speaking of the activity of the entire real estate market, P. Rudzkis says that such a streak in September allowed to further reduce the delay in the annual volume of transactions last year. If the number of registered real estate transactions maintains a similar rhythm in the remaining months of this year, it can be expected that in 2020 the total result will not lag far behind 2019.

“The very good results in September were mainly due to the land market; the results in September were the best in recent years. Residential sales also continue to reach record highs,” says P. Rudzkis.

This year 44,600 changes of owners were registered throughout the country, 1.5% less than at the same time last year (45,300). In September alone, 6,400 parcel transactions were registered, up 27% more than in September 2019 and 6% more than in August this year.

This year there were more than 9,000 individual residential sales across the country, 2% more than in the same period last year. In September alone, more than 1,300 home sales were registered, 19% more than in September last year and 1% more than in August of this year.
