He added that the monument to the partisan commander was similar to him, praising the work of the sculptors.

A couple of years ago he was already a hundred years old, and in my memory he stayed as he was when I was nine years old.

“For me, it will never get old,” he said.

The granddaughter’s work was also praised by the party leader’s granddaughter, A. Ramanauskaitė-Skokauskienė’s daughter, Inga Jancevičienė.

“It was done with sensitivity, we communicated with the sculptor, we saw his warmth, how he did it with sensitivity and care,” I. Jancevičienė told reporters.

“There was such an event when we left the foundry in Kaunas Šančiai district, we took out that bust to see it and a woman passed by who asked if she could see it. She came, says Hawk. Tears in the woman’s eyes, she says she knew the Lithuanian hero here, ”said the granddaughter of the partisan commander.

The monument was created by the group of authors Algirdas Kuzma and the Arches company, which won the competition called by the Government Chancellery.

Sculptor: this is one of the most responsible works

Sculptor A. Kuzma told BNS that this was probably one of his most responsible works.

“A very responsible and interesting work, quite complicated, because expectations are very high throughout Lithuania,” said the sculptor after the ceremony.

He said that the bronze bust is hollow and weighs around 40 kilograms.

“It is not much because the casting is a classic and hollow casting. Most of the bronze sculptures are hollow, “said A. Kuzma.
