On Thursday, after the presentation, 68 members of the Seimas voted in favor of such an amendment to the Construction Law, no one opposed, 1 member of the Seimas abstained.
The project will be on the agenda of the Seimas Environmental Protection Committee, and the Seimas intends to take it on November 5.
“I think that a small house is not a problem for anyone, there are problems when the requirements are not met. It would be healthy to eliminate the bureaucracy, so, at least in the initial stage, I propose to support the project, ”said conservative Paulius Saudargas, a member of Seimas.
Mr. Imbras said he had drafted amendments to the Construction Law to reduce the administrative burden of constructing simple buildings in the city.
Adoption of the proposed provision, in his opinion, will reduce the administrative burden for both the builder and the municipalities that issue construction permits and other institutions involved in the permitting process.
Currently, the Construction Law stipulates that when building or rebuilding a simple structure in the city, a building permit must be obtained.
