Skvernel on pension number 13: let’s not talk about taxes now

The Seimas will decide on Thursday whether to consider a proposal for a thirteenth pension of 200 euros.

“It just came to our knowledge then. I think this is one of those ways, in terms of one of the most vulnerable social groups, that could be as a stimulus,” S. Skvernelis told reporters at Seimas.

Vanda Kravčionok and Zbignevas Jedinskis, representatives of the Lithuanian faction of the Polish Election Campaign-Union of Christian Families, plan to submit amendments to the Single Benefits Law for Recipients of Social Security Pensions and Social Security Benefits to the Seimas. They offer to pay the thirteenth pension annually starting in December of next year.

“It just came to our attention then. After the submission is accepted, I don’t even doubt it. This will be followed by a conclusion from the Government. And the government will find the source or not. Let’s not talk about taxes now. It has so much good knowledge. of the proposals as of the fiscal issues in the context of the election. The elections will pass. Then, apparently, we will have to sit down and those who today propose cuts or tax increases will be over.

To draw some conclusions, you need to have sources. And how much of that spending can be extracted from those domestic reserves is another question. The forecasts for this year are good, but not as optimistic as they were announced a year ago, ”said S. Skvernelis.

The Minister of Social Security and Labor, Linas Kukuraitis, has appointed the single pension of 200 euros initiated by the government due to the coronary crisis and already paid in August to all pensioners.

The average old-age pension in Lithuania in July amounted to 377 euros, and the pension for those with the required seniority – 399 euros.
