Japanese SUVs arrested on Rutka Tartak-Žiogaičiai highway, stolen in the Netherlands in September

On Friday, Kalvarija border guard officers of the SBGS Varėna border team in Žiogaičiai village of Kalvarija municipality, on Rutka Tartak – Žiogaičiai highway, stopped a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter car with a trailer that had just entered Poland. These vehicles are marked with Lithuanian registration numbers.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated at the Varėna border team of the SBGS in relation to the acquisition or sale of criminally obtained assets. The cars were removed from the truck and stored at the Kalvarija border barrier.

The driver was questioned by border guards and allowed to continue his journey and transport another car with the corresponding documents.
