There were 20 cadets and seven crew members on the plane.
On Saturday, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, visited V. Zolochevsky, a cadet who was being treated at a military medical center, who had survived the accident of the military plane An-26.
It is noted that the head of state went to the Northern Region Military Medical Clinic, where a wounded 20-year-old student was hospitalized. He is studying at the Kharkiv National Air Force University Faculty of Aviation, named after Ivan Kozedub, reports unian.net.
The head of the center, Eduard Choroshun, informed the president that the victim’s condition was moderate. It is true that despite the injuries sustained, the cadet is conscious.
V. Zolochevsky told V. Zelensky that the plane crashed very quickly and it was not clear what was happening. He said the cadets and crew were familiar and flew together.
The president asked if the doctors and the victim had everything they needed and wanted Zolochevsky to recover as soon as possible. The Ukrainian leader also spoke with the cadet’s mother and assured her that all necessary assistance would be provided if necessary.
Speaking to the president, the guy said that after recovering from a plane crash, he saw a fellow student on fire and began to rescue him.
“At night, V. Zolochevsky regained consciousness among the wreckage of the An-26 plane, which was used by the whole team, friends, classmates. Around the fire, remains of an airplane, darkness and corpses. One of the guys lying nearby was on fire, and Slava was quick to put it out. She managed to give another cadet another chance, who sadly died of burns this morning. This is heroism on the death camp, ”wrote V. Zelenskis on his Facebook account.
Together with the president, the victim received a visit from the head of the Kharkov region administration, Alexei Kucher.
“The guy told me what happened. We didn’t overwhelm you with questions, we just asked how we could help. He said that everything was happening like in a computer game, that in revenge he saw his partner burn. He fired the guy who was in the hospital yesterday but died today, ”Kucher said Saturday.
According to the revised data, the cadet did not jump out of the plane as previously announced, but rather survived inside it.
“He doesn’t remember everything, he lost consciousness at some point. From what she was able to find out, recovering herself, she stepped out of the wreckage and began to douse a colleague on fire. He survived while on a plane, “added A. Kucer.
According to the doctors, the victim’s condition is moderate.
“But physically, it is even satisfying. I think he will spend some time in the military medical center, at least a week,” said the head of the Kharkiv regional administration.
It will be recalled that rescuers at the An-26 crash site completed their search for bodies. V. Zolochevsky was the only one who survived the disaster.
Investigators are considering four versions of the accident of the Ukrainian Air Force An-26 military plane in the Kharkiv region, the press service of the Ukrainian State Investigations Office said on Saturday.
“The following versions of the investigation are being tested: disaster due to technical failures of the aircraft’s equipment; catastrophe due to improper performance of crew duties; inadequate performance of the duties of the persons responsible for flight control; inadequate maintenance of the aircraft and its preparation for the flight, ”the report reads.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Anton Heraščenka, announced that DNA tests would be required to identify the victims of the An-26 plane.
“Currently, Ivan Kozeduba University [oro pajėgų universitetas, kurio kariūnai skrido lėktuvu] organize work with relatives. “All have been called, and today we will take DNA samples, because, unfortunately, some of the dead will be identifiable only by comparing their DNA with that of their loved ones,” Heraščenko said on the air channel “Ukraine-24” on Saturday.
“Every step is captured in photos and videos, because all this is necessary to reconstruct every second of the disaster,” Heraščenka said.
The An-26 military aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, which was conducting a training flight, crashed on the night of September 25 and landed at Chukhiv airport in the Kharkiv region.
