The “Hunt” campaign is paying off. September 23 Officials from the Šiauliai Wildlife Protection Inspectorate of the Department of Environmental Protection together with Kelmė d. The following day, two people were arrested illegally hunting in hunting areas near Radviliškis.
One of the persons had an illegal rifled hunting rifle with an optical sight and a silencer was attached to the hunting rifle. Another person had a night vision accessory with a laser sight. The night vision accessory was used in the optical sight of a hunting rifle with illegal rifling.
The environmentalists also found an illegal fishing gear during the inspection of the farm building, a fishing net that was not marked in accordance with the procedure established by law.
For poachers, administrative misconduct protocols will be developed for illegal hunting and use of prohibited hunting tools (night vision laser sight appendix), as well as possession of illegal fishing gear (fishing net). All the tools of the violation were confiscated.
One person faces a fine of € 60-200 for possession of illegal fishing gear.
Hunting or being in hunting areas with hunting equipment carries a fine of 800 to 1800 euros. Violators face a fine of 600 to 1,700 euros for prohibited hunting equipment.
Kelme d. A preliminary investigation has been launched at the police station for illegal possession of a shotgun and transfer of ammunition to another person.
