Kenny Golladay and TJ Hockenson were among the five Detroit Lions players who were placed on the team’s reserve / COVID-19 list on Wednesday, according to M Live’s Kyle Meinke. A professional golfer for the first time in 2019, Golladay caught 65 passes for 1,190 yards and 11 touchdown passes, the highest in the league, last season. During his first three seasons in Detroit, the former third-round pick has caught 163 passes for 2,730 yards and 19 touchdowns. Golladay, one of the Lions’ best 2020 salary cap deals, is entering the final year of his rookie contract.

Hockenson, the eighth overall pick in the 2019 draft, caught 32 of 59 goals for 367 yards and two touchdowns during his rookie season. Hockenson, who missed four games last season due to injury, entered training camp in hopes of winning the team’s initial job with veteran Jesse James.

The league’s recently implemented reserve / COVID-19 list includes players who tested positive for the virus or who were quarantined after being in close contact with an infected person or people. If a player falls into any of the categories, her team is required to immediately place the player on the list. Teams are not allowed, in accordance with NFL-NFLPA agreed policy, to comment on the player’s medical condition in addition to referring to cuts to the roster. Additionally, teams cannot reveal whether a player is quarantined or positive for COVID-19.

Before the start of training camp, the NFL and the NFL Players Association agreed on a plan that allows players to choose not to participate in the 2020 season if they are not comfortable with established COVID-19 health protocols. High-risk individuals may choose not to receive and receive a stipend of $ 350,000, while those less exposed would receive a stipend of $ 150,000. Players also have the ability to unsubscribe later in the season in case a family member becomes ill. Here is the list of players who have made the decision to unsubscribe.

The other three Lions players were placed on the reserve / COVID-19 list on Wednesday were cornerback Amani Oruwariye, safety Jalen Elliott and kicker Arryn Siposs.
